FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method and device can be used for prophylaxis of diseases of spinal column and for treatment of diseases of spinal column. Device for training muscles and extending spinal column has support posts, vertical holder made for turn about horizontal axis and at least one member provided with at least one opening for mounting aid with support surface. Aid with support surface is made for adjustment of at least one angle of turn of vertical holder. The aid has working part. Cross-section of working part is made in form of rectangle or it can be limited by cut of Archimedean spiral. According to method of application of device for training muscles and extending spinal column, patient is fixed at vertical holder in area of his/her legs and pelvis and is subject to turn onto horizontal axis clockwise together with vertical holder for specified angle of turn. Then patient does necessary exercises and or is positioned at angle to horizontal plane. After that patient turns over together with vertical holder counter-clockwise and returns to initial position. To fix patient onto vertical holder in area of his/her legs and pelvis by means of aid with support surface, initial angle is fixed to be optimal.

EFFECT: widened exploitation abilities; ability of choosing optimal mode of exercises; precise adjustment of angles of turn of vertical holder.
