DRAINAGE DEVICE AND METHOD OF REMOVING LIQUID FROM BODY'S CAVITY Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61M1/00

Abstract RU 2322268 C1

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device can be used for removing liquid from cavities of human body or from wounds to improve recovery after, for example, surgical operation onto pectoral cavity. Device for removing liquid from cavity of body due to sock-out has catheter aids, which in turn are equipped with drainage tune and ancillary tube made for placement close to cut of body's cavity for removal liquid from cavity. Drainage tube has proximal end which is connected with proximal end of ancillary tube. Device also has aid for collecting drainage liquid which is connected with drainage tube. Aid intends for collection of drainage liquid from body's cavity. Device has suck-in source for creating negative pressure in drainage tube and aid for opening of ancillary tube to feed air or gas into cavity of body. Device additionally has aid for making pressure difference higher between pressure in drainage tube and atmospheric pressure when ancillary tube is open and first pressure transducer for measuring pressure in ancillary tube connected with aid for making pressure difference higher. Method of operation of described device for removing liquid from cavity by means of suck-out has steps of opening of ancillary tube 5 and for making pressure difference higher between pressure in drainage tube 3 and atmospheric pressure and for measuring pressure in ancillary tube 5. Clots can be removed without disturbing patient and without repeat insertion of drainage tube.

EFFECT: ability of easy removal of clots.
