FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: declared group of inventions refers to medicine, particularly to catheters for liquid communication with patient's small intestine for the purpose of nutrient supply accompanying enteral nutrition. A catheter comprises a tube to be introduced in the patient's small intestine with said tube locating a lumen for liquid nutrition supply from an inlet hole on a proximal end of the tube to one or more outlets provided within a distal end of the tube. A portion of an external side of the tube is designed to reflect a visible light at wave length less or equal to 550 nm, and substantially does not reflect a visible light at wave length exceeding 550 nm. Said portion of the external side of the tube makes more than 40% of the external surface area, preferentially more than 60% of the external surface area, most preferentially more than 80% of the external surface area. The group of inventions also refers to a catheter with the external side of the tube designed to reflect the visible light within the range of wave lengths 440 nm to 500 nm, and to absorb the visible light at wave length more than 500 nm.

EFFECT: group of inventions facilitates detection and positioning of the catheter during a procedure of endoscopic examination.
