FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a catheter for diagnosis and/or therapy of cerebral diseases, and in particular to a cerebral catheter serving for measuring blood flow in patient's cerebral tissue. Brain tissue catheter for measuring blood flow in a patient's cerebral tissue has a proximal end remaining outside the patient's body and a distal end, introduced into patient's body. Catheter comprises a first connecting tube, which is a flexible tube, a rigid member comprising at least a first opening and a second opening, and a guide channel, extending from the proximal end to the distal end and through the rigid member. Guide channel is configured to receive a rigid wire, thereby enabling the rigid wire movement through the catheter. Radiation source is installed inside the rigid element to emit radiation into body tissue and at least one radiation receiver to receive radiation reflected by the body tissue back into the catheter. Second window is intended for passage of radiation emitted by radiation source into body tissue, and the first window is intended for transmission of radiation reflected by the body tissue to at least one radiation receiver.
EFFECT: invention is simple and inexpensive to produce and does not introduce distortions into measurement results, and has maximum narrow configuration, allowing to introduce the device into the cerebral tissue with minimal traumatism (minimum damage).
