FIELD: metallurgy; making steels for cold metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: proposed steel contains the following constituents, mass-%: C, 0.60-0.85; (Si+Al),from trace amount to 0.3; Mn, 0.1-2.0; Cr, 4.5-5.5; Mo, 1.5-2.6; W, 1.0 max.; V, 0.42-0.65; Nb, Ti and Zr, 0.1 max. each; the remainder being iron and unavoidable admixtures. Steel contains in essence no primary carbides and possesses after hardening and high-temperature tempering at temperature of 500-600°C harness ranging from Rockwell C 57 to 63. Steel possesses high mechanical properties. Tools made from this steel have constant sizes at heat treatment, high fatigue durability and good machinability.
EFFECT: enhanced durability and machinability.
