FIELD: iron and steel industry.
SUBSTANCE: said utility invention refers to the production of steel for manufacture of plastic material forming tools. The steel contains the following components, % weight: carbonate 0.43 - 0.60, silicon from trace quantities to 0.5, silicon + aluminium from trace quantities to 0.5, manganese 0.1 - 2.0, chromium 3.0 - 7.0, molybdenum + tungsten /2 2.1 - 4.0, with tungsten maximum of 1.0, vanadium 0.30 - 0.70, niobium, titanium and zirconium (maximum of each element) 0.1, cobalt maximum 2.0, the remaining being iron and mechanical impurities. The steel has enhanced qualities, which allow to use it in manufacture of plastic material forming tools.
