FIELD: waste water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processes of biochemical treatment of household and industrial waste waters and can be applied at municipal treatment plants and in local treatment systems of entertainments in chemical, petrochemical, medical, and other industries. Process comprises treatment of waste water by aerating them with electrolytically generated gas bubbles wherein waste water is passed countercurrently to gas bubbles and clarified waste water is passed through electrode system and discharged from under electrode space. The latter consists of anode and cathode made in the form of wire grid, anode being disposed horizontally over cathode and diameter of anode grid wire being 2 to 5-fold larger than that of cathode to generate on the anode oxygen bubbles, whose diameter and floating-up velocity is larger than those of hydrogen bubbles generated on the cathode. Flow velocity of water under treatment, which flows downwards in countercurrent to bubbles, is set such that it were higher than floating-up velocity of hydrogen bubbles but lower than that of oxygen bubbles.
EFFECT: intensified waste water treatment process due to selective supply of oxygen bubbles generated by electrolysis of water to microorganisms and disinfection of water by electrical current.
