FIELD: machine engineering, possibly restoration of large-size shafts.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of depositing coating out of electrolyte onto surface of rotating shaft-cathode and plastically deforming coating by means of tool for providing desired pressure effort; performing deposition of coating and its plastic deforming at using anode in the form of elastic metallic belt and tool for plastic deforming of electrically non-conducting porous material equidistant relative to part-cathode and forming united hollow pack; providing alternating feed of electrolyte to said pack and finely divided powder of nickel or cobalt base alloy or metal-carbide alloy. Apparatus for performing the method includes unit 1 for supplying electrolyte; unit 10 for supplying finely divided powder to working zone; anode 2 in the form of elastic metallic belt; tool 3 for plastic deforming of surface of cathode-shaft. Outer side of pack serves as anode 2, its inner side serves as tool with reinforced slits 4 and movable flap 7 with reinforced slits 7 corresponding to slits 4. One end of pack is rigidly secured to base 5 and its other end is secured to base 5 through controlled rigidity spring 6.
EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability of restored parts.
