FIELD: multimedia broadcasting and multi-address service systems (MBMS).
SUBSTANCE: method and device are claimed for informing terminals in universal mobile communication system "UMTS", related to information about MBMS service status, to prevent the terminal from requesting a service, which may not be provided in the cell where it is newly positioned. Mobile communication network informs the terminal about status of service provision for a certain MBMS service, which is provided, and the terminals work in accordance to information about service provision condition to minimize excessive actions of terminal, excessive signals and unproductive use of radio resources.
EFFECT: increased efficiency.
