FIELD: CHEMISTRY.
SUBSTANCE: falling-film evaporator comprises calandria with vertical heat-exchange tubes secured in top and bottom tube sheets, top and bottom solution chambers, nozzle for feed solution spraying, distributor, and steam inlet, installed in the top solution chamber, as well as a separator with a secondary steam outlet. In the top solution chamber, below the nozzle, there is a hood containing spray cone, which is formed during nozzle functioning. The hood is installed with a clearance between it and the nozzle, but abuts the solution chamber walls or top tube sheet in the bottom part. Besides, conic walls of the solution chamber may act as a spray cone containing hood. In this case, in the top part of the hood there is a suction chamber, which contains the spray cone, and steam inlet is installed in the suction chamber wall. Steam inlet located either in the top solution chamber or in the suction chamber, may be connected with the separator steam outlet. Distributor may be installed below the nozzle, over the top tube sheet.
EFFECT: steam pressure in the bottom part of spray cone is increased, as well as temperature of solution heating before it is fed to heat-exchange tubes.
