FIELD: metallurgy; production of aluminium in Soderberg electrolytic cells.
SUBSTANCE: carbon containing plug for formation of a secondary anode of an aluminium electrolytic cell is made of anode mass with 20-30% content of a binding agent, the said mass is burned at a gradual temperature rise up to 600-960 deg C.
EFFECT: secondary anode quality upgrade.
