FIELD: transporting.
SUBSTANCE: aperture plates of a canister are rigidly interconnected by means of longitudinal rod elements mounted around said aperture plates along the longitudinal axis of said canister. A container comprises tubing elements that are mounted respectively in fixed position between adjacent aperture plates of the canister and in coaxial relationship with respective cells being non-adjacent to one another. The inner diameter of the tubular elements corresponds to the diameter of the cells. The canister is provided with support damping elements that are mounted outside the bottom aperture plate.
EFFECT: invention allows to make a container having the same dimensions but an extended volume capacity in comparison to existing containers and, at the same time, meeting all the requirements imposed by regulatory documents in force related to the security of storing and transporting nuclear fuel at the facilities where atomic energy is used.
