FIELD: antenna engineering, radiolocation.
SUBSTANCE: in a design of output assembly of transmitting channel of Phased Antenna Array (PAA) module equipped with a coupler in transmitting path that is connected to amplitude detectors to monitor direct and reflected electromagnetic waves, the coupler is implemented as a dual directional coupler on the basis of coupled microstrip sections. The dual directional coupler is composed of a primary central section included in the transmitting path that is fed at the input via a matching-transforming narrow microstrip from the transmitter and having its output connected to an antenna element via identical matching-transforming microstrip, and secondary side sections located on both sides of the central section parallel to it and each having one of their ends connected to an amplitude detector located at appropriate side of the central section and intended to measure direct and reflected electromagnetic waves, while having their other ends connected to resistors. Also the directional coupler includes additional microstrip sections each located between the central and the side sections parallel to them and short circuited at both their ends to the housing. At that, the length of central, side, and additional sections is equal to a value, which is selected for each section in the range of , where λav - is average wavelength of operating band of the transmitting channel.
EFFECT: improvement of layout possibilities and reduction of module dimensions that improve efficiency of PAA design with shorter wavelength of radiation while keeping high performance electrical parameters of the transmitting path of PAA module combined with allowed level of loss in the path.
