FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: reaction is performed at tetrachlorosilane: hydrocarbons ratio 1:1-4, at temperature 180-220°C, in presence of copper-containing catalysts, concentration 1-5 % w/w. %. Compounds of copper (I) or (II) with N,N-dimethylformamide applied on silochrome surface, specific surface area 120 m2/g and pore volume 150-200 A, or tetrahexyl- or tetraheptylammonium tetrachlorocuprates are used as copper-containing catalysts.
EFFECT: energy consumption of trichlorosilane production is reduced and quantity of wastes is decreased.
