FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing chlorosilanes involves reacting silicon dioxide with boron trichloride with further introduction of hydrogen into the reactor and mechanical activation of the material, that way providing for conditions for mechanochemical reaction for synthesis of trichlorosilane and tetrachlorosilane. Likewise, tetrachlorosilane can be produced from material which contains silicon dioxide. To convert tetrachlorosilane to trichlorosilane, the former is hydrogenated with hydrogen on the reaction surface of particles of silicon-containing material, subjected to mechanical activation.
EFFECT: reduced energy consumption during production chlorosilanes from cheap natural silicon dioxide.
