FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of soluble glass production from diatomite includes conditioning of diatomite, its thermal treatment at 500-800°C, treatment with alkaline solution 5-7 % during 1 - 2 hours, filtration of suspension obtained to separate solid phase from liquid phase, liquid phase boiling off. Opaline fraction, particle size 0.1-0.001 mm, separated gravimetrically from the raw diatomite undergoes thermal treatment. Thermal treatment of high quality diatomite is performed at 500-600°C during 15-20 minutes, of medium quality diatomite - at 550-750°C during 25-40 minutes, of low quality diatomite - at 700-800°C during 30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention allows improving quality and yield of soluble glass.
