FIELD: cryogenic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: equilibrium vessel with liquid and vapour phases of the mixture under research is placed into a closed cavity filled with boiling heating medium with a weight constant throughout the experiment in order to maintain constant temperature of the vessel. The required temperature of the heating medium is maintained (or changed) by changing the heating power of an evaporator and/or a condenser cooled with coolant, which are placed in the same closed cavity. For interaction with the liquid phase, the vapour phase of a constant known composition is applied to the equilibrium vessel in a direct flow, and the vapour liquid equilibrium is considered attained when the molar percentages of the mixture at the equilibrium vessel output and the applied mixture become equal.
EFFECT: increase in accuracy of experimental data about phase equilibrium at low temperatures, decrease in time required for experiment, and decrease in coolant quantity required.
