FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: copper alloy is welded in advance onto an edge of the steel part so that the portion of the base metal in the deposited weld metal would not exceed 0.08. The deposited intermediate weld layer is welded with copper or copper alloy. When welding the copper alloy onto steel and welding the deposited weld metal layer with the copper alloy part, the filler material of the same copper alloy is used.
EFFECT: minimum transition of iron into weld metal; decrease of chemical and structural inhomogeneity; high mechanical strength; plastic properties; impact strength of weld metal.
