FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in making structures and assembly units containing compounds of copper or its alloys and steel. Filler metal for welding weld joint root represents 0.5-1.6 mm-thick band from copper-nickel alloy containing 4 to 6 wt % of nickel, and welding rod, or welding wire of copper alloy. Said band is pre-welded to steel part surface in welding zone. Pasty flux is applied to steel part surface before welding. Welding is carried out by consumable or nonconsumable electrode. Layer of fused copper alloy is created between arc and steel part surface to prevent signification steel melding and penetration of large amount of iron in weld joint metal.
EFFECT: higher quality, decreased amount of defects.
