FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: rail crosspiece comprises a movable element (1). The movable element (1) is made of rails (4) of lower profile compared to adjacent rails (9), installed on a metal carriage (5). The distance between ends of rails (9) adjacent to the crosspiece at two opposite sides is more than the length of switch rails. Gaps between ends of rails (4) and (9) are sufficient for free rotation of the movable element as the crosspiece switches. Identical level (10) of rolling surfaces of switch (4) and adjacent (9) rails is provided due to thickness of the metal carriage (5), equal to difference of heights of adjacent and switch rails.
EFFECT: increased reliability of a structure by means of complete elimination of impact of rail creep in a track on its operation.
