FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: hydrostatic bearing comprises a guide and a housing with hydraulic fluid supply channel, in which a floating element is located. On the housing working face, at the supply channel outlet, there is a support pocket. At the floating element ends, there are control pockets interconnected by a throttling channel. Outer faces of the floating element have collars and, together with mating faces of the housing and the guide, form throttling slots.
EFFECT: invention of a hydrostatic bearing with negative compliance and higher load-carrying capacity, with a few floating elements.
