FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering field and can be used for instance in hydrostatic guideways of metal-cutting machine tools. Hydrostatic bearing contains case with supplying and drain channels, in plane of which it is located afloat element with centre supplying channel. Cavity in which it is located afloat element allows closed form. External surfaces of afloat element are implemented with doughnut, forming with conjugate surfaces of closed cavity butt and radial restricting openings of echelon form. On work surface of case it is implemented bearing pouch. On seams of butt and radial restricting openings there are implemented annular grooves, one of which is connected to bearing pouch, and other - with drain channel.
EFFECT: creation of hydrostatic bearing with negative compliance, with reduced expenditure of energy and increased output capability at small amount of afloat elements.
