FIELD: instruments.
SUBSTANCE: ionising radiation detection assembly contains a detecting element and a space-time modulator connected to a modulator control device, the detecting element includes a scintillator with a converter converting optical radiation into an electric signal, installed after the scintillator, not peak sensing; the output of the detecting element and the output of the space-time modulator control device are connected to the detecting element output signal processing device; the space-time modulator is a non-mechanical space-time modulator of optical radiation, located between the scintillator and the converter converting the optical radiation into an electric signal, and is a screen with electronically controlled transparency distribution, non-uniform throughout its area; the space-time modulator control device is designed so as to provide for "running" distribution of transparency of the said screen, and the detecting element output signal processing device is designed so as to provide for a mathematical operation of deconvolution of this signal as a function of time with a function describing the "running" distribution of non-uniformity of transparency of the said screen, in order to obtain the required distribution of intensity of the radiation under investigation in the coordinate system of the said converter of optical radiation into an electric signal.
EFFECT: increase in detecting assembly resolution not limited by size of space-time modulator transparency windows, without degradation of power performance.
