IONISING RADIATION DETECTOR UNIT Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC G01T1/20 G01T1/29

Abstract RU 2331903 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: ionising radiation detector unit includes detector element, detector output signal processor, and a time-space modulator connected to its control unit, and the detector element includes scintillator with peak-insensitive converter of optic radiation to electric signal mounted behind it. Detector element output, which is the output of converter of optic radiation to electric signal, and time-space modulator control unit output are connected to the detector output signal processor. Time-space modulator of optical radiation is installed between the scintillator and the converter of optic radiation to electric signal, and comprises moving screen with heterogeneous transparency. Time-space modulator control unit enables linear movement of the said moving screen parallel to the detector element orifice. Heterogeneous transparency of the moving screen is oriented in its movement direction, and detector output signal processor can perform mathematic deconvolution of the signal as time function with a function describing screen transparency heterogeneity distribution in the movement direction to obtain the desired radiation intensity distribution.

EFFECT: improved detector unit resolution without impairment to energy characteristics, and general streamlining of the construction.
