FIELD: instruments.

SUBSTANCE: ionising radiation detection assembly contains a detecting element, not peak sensing, a space-time modulator of ionising radiation, installed in front of the working window of the detecting element, on the way of the flow of radiation under investigation, the intensity distribution of which along the space coordinate needs to be measured, a control device for the space-time modulator of ionising radiation, and a detecting element output signal processing device connected to the output of the detecting element and the control device for the space-time modulator of ionising radiation; the space-time modulator of ionising radiation is designed as a movable screen with non-uniform transparency, the control device for the space-time modulator of ionising radiation is designed so that the said movable screen could be displaced linearly in parallel to the detecting element working window; the non-uniformity of transparency of the said movable screen takes place in the displacement direction, and the detecting element output signal processing device is designed so as to provide for the mathematical operation of deconvolution of the said signal as a function of time with a function describing the transparency non-uniformity distribution of the said movable screen, in order to obtain the required distribution of intensity of the radiation under investigation.

EFFECT: increase in detecting assembly resolution not limited by size of space-time modulator transparency windows, without degradation of power performance.
