FIELD: instrumentation; nuclear physics and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in radiation monitoring as portable means of searching for gamma-radiation source. Device for determining direction of gamma radiation source on two coordinates in solid angle 2π steradian comprises video camera, body, a protective screen, a detector assembly of four scintillation counters, high-voltage converter, controller, display, matching module and a unit of storage battery. Outputs of four-channel high voltage converter, providing power supply scintillation counters are connected to four inputs of detector assembly. Four outputs detector assembly are connected to analogue inputs of four-channel controller. Four analogue outputs of controller are connected to inputs of high-voltage converter for installation of output voltages. Outlet of controller is connected to input matching module for transfer of accumulated data counters. Matching module is connected to input of display and output of video camera and controls of their operation. Device is powered from storage battery unit, whose outputs are connected to input unit and high-voltage converter input. All components of device are arranged in one housing.

EFFECT: wider range of measuring direction of radiation source on two coordinates to solid angle 2π steradian (entire front hemisphere) and reduced weight.
