FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns polymer technology, namely obtainment of a binder used in varnish-and-paint production. It describes process of obtaining light petroleum polymer by polymerisation of unsaturated compounds from liquid fraction with boiling range 130 to 190°C, left from once-run benzene pyrolysis, in presence of catalyst systems of titanium tetrachloride and organic aluminum compound in the following mol ratio: TiCl4 : Al(C2H5)2Cl = 1 : (0.1 ÷ 10); TiCl4 : Al(C2H5)3 = 1 : (0.1 ÷ 10); TiCl4 : Al(iso-C4H9)3 = 1 : (0.1 ÷ 10). In the role of pyrolysis products the process involves previously distilled liquid fraction with boiling range 130 to 190°C, left from once-run benzene pirolysis and containing 60 to 70% of unsaturated hydrocarbons, including 13 to 18% of cyclopentadiene and 32 to 37% of dicyclopentadiene. Polymerisation is run at the temperature of 0 to 20°C; with reaction time 5 to 60 minutes and subsequent catalyst deactivation by 1.2-epoxypropane.
EFFECT: obtaining of light petroleum polymer gum by low temperatures in rather short time.
