FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described is a method for producing modified polymeric petroleum resin by co-polymerisation of unsaturated compounds of a fraction of liquid straight-run pyrolysates within the distillation range of 130 to 190°C and an additional monomer when exposed to 2% titanium tetrachloride for 60-120 min and followed by deactivation of a catalyst complex by propylene oxide; the monomer is cyclopentadiene in an amount of 5% to 10% of fraction weight, and the polymerisation is performed at a temperature of 20°C.
EFFECT: producing bright polymeric petroleum resins in the mild conditions: at a low working temperature at a high rate.
