FIELD: physics; measurements.
SUBSTANCE: converter can be used for nondestructive control of metallic objects using an ultrasonic method. The essence lies in that, the electromagnetic-acoustic converter consists of a magnetic biasing unit and an oscillator is located between poles, which is in the form of an array of conductors located in one plane and parallel each other and the poles of the magnetic biasing unit. The magnetic biasing unit is in the form of a moveable constant magnet with the shape of a parallelepiped with rounded edges, placed between the upper ends of the parallel magnetic conductors, the lower ends of which form a pole of the magnetic biasing unit. There two extra magnetic conductors in the converter, whose lower ends are located on two sides of the oscillator, in the plane of poles of the magnetic conductors of the magnetic biasing unit, perpendicular to the array of conductors. The upper ends of all magnetic conductors are directed to the centre of the magnetic, while the magnet is installed with provision for rotation about its point of symmetry.
EFFECT: increase in the quality of measurements of metallic objects using the ultrasonic method.
