FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of nondestructive check, namely to facilities for detection of defects in metals and alloys in wide range of thicknesses at single-sided contact-free access, and is intended for application in metallurgy, machine building and other fields of industry. Magnetic system of electromagnet-acoustic transducer (EMAT) comprises permanent magnet in the form of cylinder with magnetisation direction along axis, concentrator made of soft magnetic material, additional magnet, pole tip, magnetic conductor and insert from non-magnetic material, at that concentrator is installed on end part of magnet, additional magnet is arranged with magnetisation direction along normal to lateral facets of concentrator and with provision of the same polarity of all poles adjacent to concentrator, pole tip is located on magnet end that is opposite to concentrator, and magnetic conductor is located between additional magnet and pole tip, at that insert is installed between pole tip and magnetic conductor.
EFFECT: expansion of functional resources and field of application due to increased sensitivity of equipment used to detect defects and measure thickness of parts, and also reduction of scattered magnetic field level on lateral surfaces of EMAT, which provides for fulfillment of sanitary requirements and makes it possible to use EMAT without hazard for operator of nondestructive test.
