FIELD: defectoscopy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nondestructive testing in the implementation of ultrasonic contactless flaw detection methods to detect defects in rails at significant scanning speeds. Rail electromagnetic-acoustic control device contains a test wheel with a set of electromagnetic-acoustic transducers evenly placed in special depressions in the rim along the perimeter of the test wheel. Magnetic system of electromagnetic-acoustic transducers is made in the form of a biaxial trolley with the placement of solenoids on the axes of wheel pairs. Solenoids are connected by a magnetic chain with axes of wheel pairs. Wheels serve as poles of the electromagnet and at least one wheel of the cart on each rail is test, and the inductors of the electromagnetic-acoustic transducers are fixed in the wheel rim sealed.

EFFECT: efficiency of excitation of ultrasonic oscillations by a contactless method in a controlled rail increases at high scanning rates.
