FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of producing silica aldehydes, specifically macroporous silica aldehydes such as spherosil aldehydes, porasil aldehydes or diasorb aldehydes, and aerosilogel aldehydes or silochrome aldehydes characterised by grain size of 40-800 mcm, pore size of 60-1500 Å and static exchange capacity of 20-245 mcmol/g, involving oxidation of silica diols, specifically macroporous silica aldehydes such as spherosil diols, porasil diols or diasorb diols, and aerosilogel diols or silochrome dills in an aqueous medium at pH 3-6. The oxidising agent used is an iodine (VII) compound selected from the group: dihydroorthoperiodate, mesoiodate, or metaiodate of an alkali metal or ammonia with ratio of oxidising agent to silica diol between 1:50 and 1:1.
EFFECT: design of a universal and simple method of producing silica aldehydes with given size of grains, pores and other characteristics for active solid-phase matrices in biotechnology, for indicator test agents for analysis of technological and natural objects.
