FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to use of propane as a polymerisation degree regulator when obtaining fluoropolymers. Description is given of the method of free-radical polymerisation of a vinylidene fluoride monomer, where propane is the only polymerisation degree regulator used. The method of free-radical polymerisation of a mixture of copolymers of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene is also described, where propane is the only polymerisation degree regulator used.
EFFECT: use of propane in the given methods increases the rate of polymerisation with the corresponding expenditure of the initiator, and obtaining a polymer with good colouring and resistant to colour change at high temperatures.
