FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device includes rotor installed at rotating shift, and stator. Stator contains base and source of coherent light matched optically with photo receiver through optic fiber. Rotor consists of dielectric rods placed along the generating line of cylindrical surface aligned with the shaft. Permanent magnets are fixed in the rods. Object and reference fiber coils of fiber optic interferometer (FOI) are installed in the base of stator. Ends of dielectric beams are tightly fit into FOI coil cores. Electric magnets fixed at the free ends of beams have possibility to correlate periodically with permanent magnets of the rotor.
EFFECT: misalignment and outrun of controlled rotating shift causes fiber optic interferometer to emit relevant signal.
