FIELD: measuring equipment, possible use for measuring average speeds and gradients of speeds of sea currents.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to invention, onto two bimetallic spirals, one or two of which may be made with possible heating, object and supporting filaments of fiber-optic interferometer are applied with tightness. In case of overheating of one bimetallic spiral, average speed of low is measured, in case of overheating of both - speed gradient. Output signal of fiber-optic interferometer is received as a result of one or two bimetallic spirals overheated relatively to flow untwisting or twisting when cooled down by flow of liquid, which results in appearance of additional phase difference at output of fiber-optic interferometer, proportional to values being measured.
EFFECT: simplification of optical and electronic schematics of device.
