FIELD: atomic energy and metallurgy; monitoring level of molten metals.
SUBSTANCE: level gauge consists of an actuating coil, made in form of a series of coils, fixed in a protective cover, sunk into the monitored medium and a series of measuring coils, put between the actuating coils at a fixed distance from them. The value of this distance is not less than the thickness of the walls of the protective cover and not more than three times the diameter of the actuating coils. Signals from the measuring coils are applied to a digital-to-analogue converter, which determines the level from the signals from coils located lower the level, as well as in the zone of the current position. The invention combines advantages of analogue and digital level gauges.
EFFECT: provision for high metrological performance of the level gauge.
