FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in the proposed level gauge the level measurement range is split into high and medium accuracy control zones. The high accuracy control zones represent a row of excitation coils evenly distributed across the zone height and a row of measurement coils inductively connected to the excitation coils. The medium accuracy zone is composed of two symmetrical sections, each containing an excitation coil and a measurement coil inductively connected to the latter, the both evenly distributed across the zone height and represented by solenoids or oval frames the height whereof is equal to that of the section. Positioned between the sections is a signal pair of coils: an excitation coil and a measurement coil inductively connected to the latter. The sections excitation windings are connected accordantly while the measurement windings are connected in parallel. All the excitation coils and excitation windings are connected to an AC generator while all the measurement coils and measurement windings are connected to a logical computer.
EFFECT: reliable control over the level of liquid metal heat medium combined with ensuring the preset metrological characteristics within a wide range of temperatures, control continuity and moderate fabrication cost.
