FIELD: decontamination of radioactive waste.

SUBSTANCE: in method of equipment decontamination from surface radioactive contamination by means of ultrasound effect on the surface through liquid medium (decontaminating fluid), ultrasound effect on decontaminated surface is done through water clayey suspension, which contains particles that have abrasive effect on decontaminated surface. Spent solution that has absorbed radioactive contamination removed from the surface is dried, formed, then thermally treated by transferring into ceramic matrix that fixes contamination in itself. At that abrasive particles serve as thinning agent for clay.

EFFECT: decontamination efficiency is increased as well as reliability of radionuclides retention in matrix during long-term storage.
