FIELD: nuclear industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the nuclear industry and can be used for decontamination of large-sized capacitive equipment, for example, in preparation for decommissioning and in the process of decommissioning nuclear and radiation-hazardous facilities, at nuclear energy use facilities. In the method of decontamination of large-sized capacitive equipment, ultrasonic emitters are mounted on the walls of the decontaminated container from the outside. The decontaminated container is filled with a decontaminating solution to the required level, vibrations from ultrasonic emitters are transmitted to the inner surface of the container and intensify the process of chemical decontamination and dissolution of deposits inside the container. The spent decontaminating solution, which has absorbed the removed radioactive contamination, is removed from the treated decontaminated container.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to completely or partially reduce the radiation background and provide the possibility of fragmentation of this equipment for subsequent disposal.
