FIELD: ecology.

SUBSTANCE: method of decontaminating equipment from surface radioactive contaminants by exposing the decontaminated surface to ultrasound through a decontamination solution, which is a suspension of clay in water with addition an abrasive component and phosphoric acid which, by reacting with aluminium oxides contained in the clay, as well as with oxides of other metals, including metal oxides removed from the decontaminated surface, turns the suspension into solid state of a phosphate ceramic, thus immobilising contaminants in the solid phosphate ceramic.

EFFECT: highly efficient decontamination.
