FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to facilities of voltage control and may be used in devices for power supply of direct current railway. Power supply circuit of direct current railway contains traction substation, which includes head step-down transformer, the high voltage of which is connected to high-voltage supply line. Low voltage winding of head step-down transformer is connected to distributing device, to which the first rectifying unit is connected that is joined with contact circuit and traction rail. According to the present invention the second rectifying unit is introduced, the inlet of which is connected to power line that is connected to distributing device of traction substation, and outlets of the second rectifying unit are connected to inlets of introduces direct current converter, one of outlets of which is connected to contact circuit, and the other one - to traction rail.
EFFECT: reduction of electric energy losses in contact circuit by means of its transfer to electric locomotive with higher voltage.
