FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in traction power systems of AC railroads for power supply of electrified railways. DC traction power supply system, comprising contact network, including main contact wire, traction substations with three-phase transformers, traction rail connected to one of phases of three-phase transformer, electric vehicle with traction motors, main current collection device, which is connected to main contact wire, is three-phase and is equipped with additional contact wire, at that, wires of two phases of three-phase transformers of traction substation are connected to main and additional contact wires of overhead system; introduced is additional current collection device identical to main current collection device, which is connected with additional contact wire; main and additional current collection devices may contain control units providing connection and disconnection with contact wires.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of specific electric energy consumption for traction of electric rolling stock and, consequently, improvement of technical and economic efficiency of traction power supply.
