SUBSTANCE: unit is composed of a housing with cutting elements for cleaning the internal surface of pump and compressor pipes (PCP), laminated springs connected with the housing, with cutting edges for cleaning surfaces of rods and retaining elements to fix the unit in relation to PCP, a retaining assembly to fix the unit in relation to PCP with elements of contact with PCP, a holder enclosing the housing provided with through longitudinal recesses, in which elements of contact with PCP are mounted; these elements are made as rolling bodies and mounted in longitudinal recesses of the housing having a concave bottom, which makes it possible to sink the elements below the exposed surface of the holder or to project them above the same. The walls of the recesses in the holder limit longitudinal travel of rolling bodies within one half of the recess in the housing. Each element of the assembly for changing the direction of travel of the housing is made as an assembly of axial travel of the holder relative to the housing and has a bush with openings projecting beyond its internal surface, in which rolling bodies are mounted that can be sunk below the bush surface level or be lifted above the same.
