FIELD: measuring instruments.
SUBSTANCE: liquid crystal display (LCD) includes an ultraviolet light source and a liquid crystal cell (LCC) comprising the following inline layers: an UV-polariser, a rear UV-transparent wall, a matrix forming the image of elements, a liquid crystal layer, an output UV-polariser, a matrix of primary-colour photoluminescent phosphors corresponding to the number and arrangement of subpixels, a front wall of the LCC, said wall being transparent to visible light.
EFFECT: absence of losses upon focusing colour splotches of backlighting, an extreme wide viewing angle - one hundred and eighty degrees, obtaining images in non-polarised light, increasing brightness due to using total emission of phosphors, obtaining a deeper black colour.
