FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method relates to the field of agriculture. In the method the relative stability of spring wheat varieties to chloride salinity is determined by the method of seedling in the roll culture. The seedlings were grown to 2-3 leaf phase, exposed to salt stress by exposing them in sodium chloride solution with an osmotic pressure of 9 atm. The cuttings of the second leaves of seedlings are prepared, placed in distilled water at a ratio of 1:20 for 1.5 hours in the lighting conditions. The extracts are filtered, their electrical conductivity is identified and response of the variety to salinity is calculated in relation: where Gk is electrical conductivity of aqueous extracts of leaves of control samples; G0 is electrical conductivity of aqueous extracts of leaves of test samples, and if K is less than 150% the variety is included into a group of relatively stable to chloride salinity.

EFFECT: method enables to accelerate the breeding process due to selecting promising varieties in the early stages of organogenesis.
