FIELD: weapons.
SUBSTANCE: twin artillery piece mount comprises a gun slide with two barrels attached to reciprocate along their axis. The barrels are linked with one rammer moving on the gun slide to ram shell home into the first and then into the second barrel. Ramming home into first (second) barrel is timed with the second (first) barrel recoil (run-up). Two rammer versions are proposed, i.e. a hydraulic one made up of two coupled hydraulic cylinders, one of them interacting with the shell while the other one interacting with the first (second) barrels and a mechanical one made up of a rack gearing mechanism including, at least, two racks, one interacting with the shell while the other one interacting with the first (second) barrels.
EFFECT: simpler design due to ruling out hydraulic-pneumatic accumulators and the second rammer.
