FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: preparation for conservation of smoothly dried grasses with 60-70% moisture content consists of the acetic (85%) and formic (15%) acids. The proposed preparation used for silaging smoothly dried annual and perennial grasses is similar to the formic acid in content and balance of acids as well as in availability of ammonia (tables 1 and 2) and it outstrips formic acid due to better amino acid content of protein (table 3) and digestibility of dry matter in the obtained forage.
EFFECT: advantage of acetic acid over formic acid consists in energy value for the ruminants.
