FIELD: metrology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurements of nuclear radiation and can be used in geochemistry, geophysics, seismology to forecast earthquakes, in radio-ecology, in ecological research. The method of determining the constant of radon diffusion in soils proceeds from model approximation of radon transfer in porous media. Here note that the radon activity per unit volume is measured at two points at a time, the points being spaced apart by 0.2 to 1 m, the measurements at one being effected at the depth h1 from 0.2 to 0.5 m and at the other one at the depth h2=2h1. Now, the radon constant of diffusion is calculated.
EFFECT: simpler procedure, higher validity.
