FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved method for obtaining biologically active substances from products of chemical procession of birch bark outer layer, namely, to method for obtaining betulonic acid from betulin. Method lies in oxidation of betulin with Jones reagent in acetone at 0°C with mole ratio of betulin and chrome anhydrate equal to 1:6-1:7 during 20-30 minutes with further isolation of target product. The method allows simplification of obtaining betulonic acid due to reduction of betulin oxidation time from 7 to 0.5 hour and increase in its yield from 47 to 55.0%.
EFFECT: simplification of obtaining betulonic acid at an increase in its yield.
