FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing betulonic acid from birch bark outer layer (birch bark), which is an intermediate product for producing betulinic acid and other biologically active substances.
EFFECT: method consists in that ground birch bark is oxidised with intensive mixing in acetone with freshly prepared Jones reagent at 20-22 °C for 3 hours with subsequent separation of end product.
